On last Thursday morning at 3 o'clock, after an illness of ten days with fever, Mr. N.B. Adkins died. It had been known for two days that he was dangerously sick but it was hoped by his many friends that he was not ill beyond recovery. Mr. Adkins was 35 years of age and was born in the country near here, being a son of Mr. S.M Adkins. He owned a farm in the Bremen country, where he had been living until about a year ago, when he removed with his family to his place, where he shortly afterwards bought a half interest in the transfer lines to the depot and was engaged in that up to the time of his death. He leaves a wife, formerly Miss Alice Eades, a sister of C. Eades of this place, and one child, who will have the sympathy of the entire communtiy in their loss. The funeral services were conducted from the Baptist church by Dr. Coleman, the enterment taking place at Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Adkins was noted for his kindness of heart and good will towards every one and will be sadly missed.1
