For those familiar withe Texas Hold'em Poker, the game carries the same basic structure with 5 community cards and 2 hole cards, but instead of traditional playing cards, you get dealt letters. Using the letters you have in your hand combined with the community cards, you try to form your highest scoring word. Like Hold'em, each round involves betting based on the strength of your hand or if you think you can just bluff someone off their hand. It's a nice concept and works out quite well.
Tournament game structure is said to be in the works as well as a Pro version that is meant to help support the developers. Self Aware has said that the free version remains fully featured:. The main thing, though, is that the game's free. WAP is for you if you want more chips, or if you simply want to help support the game's continued development! But if you don't want to pay, Word Ace the free version is a complete game, and you can play as much as you like.
Our forum thread has ongoing discussion with developer participation. Word Ace , Free. I hate the word games because the're such an easy way around cheating. Sit down with your lappy and your iphone and play. Use a word search website or something where you can input the words and it gives you all the words you can spell with the letters you have and the game becomes totally unbalanced. As much as I would love to play, I have a feeling there would be a dichotomy between the people that cheat and those that don't.
This is true for almost every board game like chess or checkers. Sure people cheat, but who cares. I think the cross-platform thing is neat! I hope more games like the upcoming Monster Ball support multiple platforms like this. I'm surprised at the lack of lewd usernames, comments, and pictures. It's a fun free game. I'll be buying the WAP soon to thank them! You can play Practice Mode against bots.
After a hard fuck, we both collapsed into the chair, our two naked bodies lying motionless.
For better informational, and notability, purposes I have merged Geek and Pokemon category Scrabble into Category Scrabble. Allowing separate headings for each category anyone has ever used would set a dangerous precedent. I feel that using standard equipment is more important than who came up with the variant. I also added in a number of well known variants which were sorely lacking. Need to mention Duplicate Scrabble which is the standard competitive format for the French-speaking countries.
English-language Scrabble can be played in duplicate but this is hardly ever done. I was hoping to find information about Junior scrabble. If i recall correctly it features a smalller board and some suggested words already printed on the board.
I agree that this article should have something on Junior Scrabble. It has somewhat different distributions to the tiles in the standard Scrabble game.
Is it just me or is wordox missing from this list, I believe it is called wordsteal also. Basically a cross between scrabble and othello I suppose. I've added an "original research" tag because there seem to be a number of sections to the article that would violate Wikipedia's original research tenets if they were on their own as articles. I'll be doing a hunt over the next while to determine if I can find sources for some of these variants.
Any help would be appreciated. If I can't find things, I may be removing sections from the article. Andy Saund e rs The tag seems fair enough, I've never heard of most of these. Duplicate Scrabble however is played by tens of thousands of people, although very very rarely in English. I have heard of a few duplicate tournaments organised by ABSP members mind you.
It can be overwhelming to start with to watch all the players at a table all at the same time. This will be a skill you build up over time and eventually it will become second nature to you. Betting Patterns are where we look for common patterns in our opponents actions which help us to identify what they are trying to do and what hands they might have.
Seeing how many hands they play will give you an indication of the kind of starting hands they are willing to play with, someone who plays a lot of hands is unlikely to have premium hands each time, so that shows he is willing to enter a pot with more marginal hands.
And the opposite is also true; a player who plays few hands will be waiting for premium hands to enter a pot. Vital information to give you a head start in trying to work out what hand your opponent might have. This really is a wealth of information, if you see their hand in the showdown at the end, think back to how they played the hand. Did they slow play with a monster hand, or were they aggressive with a weak hand?
Make a note of this information, it will come in handy next time your in a hand with this opponent. Do they like to enter a pot by raising or do they prefer just to limp in? A Player who enters with a raise a lot means you should be more wary of playing marginal hands in front of him, as he may well raise and force you out of the pot.
A Caller is more likely to be a weaker player. Some players who are aggressive before the flop, will be aggressive again after the flop with a continuation bet, but then if they get called will fade off and not bet on the turn. This is a huge betting pattern tell as once we have identified it we know exactly what sort of hand our opponent has. The above are just a few examples of types of things to look out for with betting patterns. The key is to piece together the information your opponent is sending you and try and decide if it all makes sense, then try to work out why your opponent has acted like that, is it a trap or a genuine sign of weakness?
